Volunteering at Brunswick Street Mission
Did you know that volunteering can help improve your overall health by reducing stress levels and offering a better nights sleep? It does. It also helps build skills, a sense of belonging and new friendships while offering Brunswick Street Mission the ability to run its programs.

You can email your interest or questions to mission@brunswickstreetmission.org. We ask all volunteers to understand that the community we work with may be dealing with trauma which can affect they way they interact with others, and ask that you are patient and understanding.
Front Desk Greeter
As a Greeter you will be the first point of contact for any client or guest visiting or calling Brunswick Street Mission. We are open Tuesday through Thursday 9:30am to 2:30pm
Greeters are an important resource Brunswick Street Mission and the community members we serve. With safety protocol in place we welcome clients into our building to access programming.
We are looking for volunteers who are able to act as a Greeter by:
- Answering the telephone, checking messages and, when appropriate, returning calls
- Assisting clients with clothing requests
- Maintaining a clean and safe space
- Accepting clothing or food donations
- Being committed to working 1 day a week for a minimum of 3 months
Food Bank Volunteer
As a volunteer you will help community members with their grocery needs by either packing a food bundle or walking them through our choice model food bank. We are looking for people who can support the program on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9:30am to 2:30pm by:
- Walking community members through our choice model food bank
- Receiving food and stocking shelves on Monday morning
Due to the responsibilities of this position we ask that volunteers be able to lift up to 40 pounts.
Short Term or Group Volunteer Opportunities
Many of our programs require training but we do occassionally have opportunities for group volunteers for one day projects or special events. If you would like to know more please email mission@brunswickstreetmission.org.
