Performers

Heather Rankin

Heather Rankin is a singer, songwriter, actor, and member of the 6X Juno Award winning band The Rankin Family. As a solo artist she has released two albums: A Fine Line (ECMA/Juno Nom.) and Imagine (ECMA Nom.) Her music video for “We Walk As One” (dir. Scott Simpson) was nominated for ECMA’s Fans’ Choice Video of the Year and her music video for “Titanically” (dir. Thom Fitzgerald) was nominated for ECMA and Music Nova Scotia Awards for Video of the Year. S
She has taken her solo show to venues across the country, including headlining the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival, hosting Songwriters’ Circles at ECMA Week and at the Nova Scotia SummerFest, performing with the Cape Breton Orchestra at Celtic Colours, with Symphony NS, and with the Calgary Philharmonic. Since 2018 she has also performed with Nova Scotian powerhouses Bette MacDonald, Lucy MacNeil, and Jenn Sheppard in their fan favourite music and sketch comedy show Island Girls.
In 2017 Heather was named a Canada 150 Ambassador, and she took part in the Canada C3 Expedition on Leg 2 between Montréal and Baie Comeau, where she co-wrote the song “River of Nations” with Alex Cuba and Andrea Menard. She has recorded and performed with many artists including The Chieftains, Johnny Reid, Brett Kissel, and Carly Simon.
In addition to her live shows, Heather has worked with Bell TV On Demand on two different projects which showcase the vibrant and unique cultural and musical traditions of Cape Breton Island. Heather is an Officer of the Order of Canada known for her deep love and passion for both her Gaelic heritage and her community. 

Linda Carvery

 

Patrick Maubert

Patrick Maubert (he/they) is a musical theatre practitioner and social worker. They hold a Master’s in Musical Theatre Creative Practice from ArtsEd: City University of London and studied Musical Theatre at the American Musical & Dramatic Academy New York. They also earned a Bachelor of Social Work from Dalhousie University in Kjipuktuk (Halifax) and are currently working towards their MSW.
Maubert is also the Program Director here at the Brunswick Street Mission and absolutely loves working here in this vibrant community.
As a performer, Patrick toured internationally with The 12 Tenors and has worked with Musicals Tonight Off-Broadway, Tokyo Disneyland, Canada’s Wonderland, Theatre New Brunswick, and Neptune Theatre—most recently appearing as King Agnarr and Oaken in Frozen.

They are passionate about accessible, community-rooted arts education.

Katrina Philip

Chicago born and raised, then went to The Big Apple to pursue her Broadway dreams… There she fell head-over-heels for a Canadian, and when the pandemic hit, the two stumbled upon Nova Scotia where her passion for performance and instruction was reignited. You may recognize Katrina from a few Neptune shows (such as The Full Monty, Frozen, and Mamma Mia!). When Katrina is not performing, she's busy leading acting and dance classes. Eden Reshef

Eden is thrilled to be performing in the First Annual Miracle on Brunswick Street Fundraiser Concert. She is an actor and designer with a Bachelors in Stage Design and Technical Theatre. In selected past productions she has had the privilege to play Jo March in Little Women (Dalhousie Theatre Society), Heather Duke in Heathers (Dalhousie Theatre Society), Anne Frank in The Diary of Anne Frank (Original Kids Theatre Company). Her upcoming roles include Ariel in Storybook Theatre’s Christmas Spectacular.
