Food Bank Program
Brunswick Street Mission is part of a network of food banks supported by Feed Nova Scotia. Need to access our food bank?
Hours: 930am to 1130am
Eligibility: You can only receive food support once a month. We require a Nova Scotia health card and proof of address. You may register others living in the same home but need to bring Nova Scotia health cards for all children and adults, as well as the proof of address.
Registration: you must pre-register on Wednesday morning. To register please call 902-423-4605.
Note: Please bring your own shopping or reusable bags.
Data Collection: you will be asked to sign a paper agreeing to be entered into a database maintained by Feed Nova Scotia, which ensures everyone receives a fair share of the available food.
By providing groceries (bread, crackers, meat/cheeses, vegetables), we can make a huge difference to the volume and nutritional quality of food available to a family. Almost half of our clients are experiencing a temporary crisis and we may only meet them once. However many families who rely on income or disability assistance have no choice but to use food banks regularly to get by.
Each year over 2,000 individuals access our weekly food bank.
