The Brunswick Street Mission has operated a clothing bank for more than 50 years and is managed by volunteers. All of the clothing and small household items available have been donated and are given away to those in need.
The clothing bank is open to all individuals on Monday and run by volunteers. Clothing is donated by individuals and local businesses and our volunteers work to arrange clothing by gender and size.
Each year more than 3,000 individuals have accessed necessities for themselves and their families.
FX 101.9 runs an annual Coats-for-Kids program and provides hundreds of winter coats to children who are in need. Brunswick Street Mission continues to be a partner of this program.
In 2012, Violetta Mae (Lolly) Smith who has volunteered at our clothing bank for over 40 years, received the Governor General’s Caring Canadian Award for her commitment to the Brunswick Street Mission clothing bank.
